What is art and what is not

What is art? Art is a way to express yourself and be creative. Art makes us think
of many things whether it is a painting, ad, graphic drawings and designs on certain things, like video games, CD covers, and comics. Art makes us think of what others
opinions are. It is also shown everywhere no matter where you are either you’re at a
billboard, record stores, their logo can catch your attention, and all the CDs from bands
have their albums designed from ordinary to eye catching.
I believe that art has been done by taking up a lot of time to make something
really eye catching to the viewer. One piece for example I find to get people’s attention
is this video game cover called “Ninja Gaiden Black.” Why? The ninja character looks
realistic along with the woman the ninja is with. Another piece that is art is Judas and the
Corruption of Men. The image is in black and white and there is a lot of overlapping in
it of people and the sky. (http://danielcoburn.wordpress.com/2008/06/26/what-is-art/)
Art has its ways of getting our attention of looking at something that can make us
think of something. Comics is another, specifically anime, superheroes, and cartoons.
I don’t many comics, but often I do. The art can be realistic although most is
fiction, but some is non fiction which talk about real life at times.
My moods of art has various feelings from dark and vibrant. By that I mean
any image that has lighter colors can be vibrant while any image that is black and
white is considered dark images and anything colored and has shadows on it is
considered vibrant and appealing to the eye. The symbols of arts are various from
skull and crossbones, the sun, dragon, cross, stars, have a definition in art because
it can represent those things in a video game, album cover, comics, logos of
things. My metaphors of art are “Art is creative and life enjoys art.” I said that
because people have their creative side. Without art, what would the world be like
without artistic creations? How would someone feel like if art was never seen in their
entire life?
When I create my art piece, I want it to look 3-D or be really creative on
the images that I selected. To meet those standards, I will have to work extra, take
my time and work on the images if it is Photoshop, then I will have to use the tools
that I’ve learned, like masking out, selecting, and make it 3-D if possible. For Comic
Life, I could be picky about the images because they have various backgrounds. If
the characters were to meet each other, then I could possibly take out the background.
Also, this can be a challenge to make art with by finding the right images. I could
think about making a album cover either from any band whether its real or made
up, I could make it dark or vibrant, but mostly vibrant because a previous CD I
bought last summer, a band called Dragonforce, their new album had vibrant
colors rather than in other bands albums, they use dark colors.
My process of finding the definition of art took a lot of time for me to decide.
My meaning has changed a bit, I’ve been adding things that is art like, abstract designs
and comics. The pieces I’ve decided were about video games of one cover that is 3-D
and the other with cheap drawings because in my blogs, the images I had were mainly
video games. My meaning of art is it is 3-D, comical, creative and it is not by not
having a drawing or having nothing at all.

What is art Read and Respond

1. The bloggers main point of art is that it has to meet certain standards, like looking nice and represents something.

2. The evidence is that art represents something whether it is the triumphs or tragedy of human condition. It also needs to show feelings with "passion and fervor."
http://danielcoburn.wordpress.com/2008/06/26/what-is-art/

3. I think the author thought of art as being beautiful and perfect are the underlying beliefs and values. I also think that the author thought of art as how others would view the world.

4. The art piece the author was discussing was the definition of art and saying that others have views on art. Others were images of people and stuff and the history of it.

5. There is one more piece a photo titled " Judas and the Corruption of Men" It isn't given a description of the photo on what it is about, but I can say it is art. Why? Because there is overlapping between the people and the sky and the ground, and is in black and white.

6. My definition of art is it has to look cool, it can be 3-D and realistic. When it comes to art to me, it is many different things, a few are video game screenshots, video game covers, comics,
cd covers for certain rock bands.
